What is GCP France?

The Global Consulting Program (GCP) in Dijon, France, was an experience where I worked on a small team to support a real client looking to expand into a new market. We were responsible for conducting market research, understanding consumer behavior, and building out a strategy that the client could actually use. What made it different was that this wasn’t theoretical; we were working with real stakes, real expectations, and alongside students from Burgundy Business School, which added another layer in terms of communication and perspective.

Being in a completely different environment forced me to think and operate differently. We had to figure things out as we went, adapt to new expectations, and present our ideas in a way that made sense across cultures. It pushed me out of my comfort zone in a way that felt real, not just academic, and made me take more ownership over my work and decisions.

Impact of GCP France

Professionally, this experience shifted how I see myself. It made everything feel more real. I wasn’t just completing assignments anymore; I was contributing to something that actually mattered to someone else. It forced me to trust my thinking, communicate more clearly, and step into a leadership role within my team. I came out of it more confident in my ability to handle uncertainty and more aware of how I show up in a professional setting.

For the client, our work gave them a clearer direction and a starting point they didn’t have before. We were able to provide insight into a market they were unfamiliar with and turn that into something actionable. For me, it showed how impactful this kind of work can be when it’s done right. It made me realize that I don’t just want to be involved in experiences, I want to be part of building and shaping things that have a lasting impact.
